Sustainable Olive Culture under Climate Change: The Potential of Biostimulants
نویسندگان
چکیده
Climatic extreme events, like droughts, heatwaves, and floods are becoming recurrent represent a threat to agriculture, lowering plant growth productivity. The Mediterranean region is climate-change hotspot, where traditional agricultural systems, olive groves, particularly challenged. Both the intensive systems of culture coexist in Mediterranean. differ their demands for water agrochemicals, but nowadays, global inputs agrochemicals irrigation have increased achieve high productivity profitability. Finding sustainable alternatives maintain under ongoing climate change urgent meet EU-Farm Fork strategy neutrality. Candidate eco-friendly include biostimulants. These substances or microorganisms, that activate signaling cascades metabolic processes, increasing yield, quality, tolerance stressors. benefits better growth, nutritional status availability, leading decreased demand agrochemicals. In this review, we aim present different types biostimulants (e.g., seaweed, protein hydrolysates, humic substances, microorganisms nanomaterials), mode action agriculture. We also explore current state-of-the-art regarding use culture, potential increase (a)biotic challenges.

Modeling Current and Future Potential Distributions of Caspian Pond Turtle (Mauremys caspica) under Climate Change Scenarios
Although turtles are the most threatened taxonomic group within the reptile class, we have a very limited understanding of how turtles respond to climate change. Here, we evaluated the effects of climate changes on the geographical distribution of Caspian pond turtle (Mauremys caspica). We used an ensemble approach by combining six species distribution models including artificial neural network...
متن کاملSustainable Development and Climate Change
Sustainability is defined in terms of four overlapping positions, ranging from very weak to very strong sustainability. The core idea is of a non-declining capital stock (including natural capital) over generational time. Weak sustainability positions emphasise capital substitution possibilities and the power of technical process to mitigate resource depletion and pollution problems. Climate ch...
متن کاملModeling the effect of climate change to the potential invasion range of Piper aduncum Linnaeus
The potential effect of invasive plant species on biodiversity is one of most important subject of inquiry at present. In many parts of the world, the alarming spread of these plants has been documented. Knowing that climate exerts a dominant control over the distribution of plant species, predictions can therefore be made to determine which areas the species would likely spread under a climate...
متن کاملEffects of Climate Change on Olive Cultivation and Table Olive and Olive Oil Quality
Climate change is undoubtedly the most imminent environmental issue the world is facing today. Climate changes could heavily affect olive oil producing areas, especially in the Mediterranean basin. Olive trees are tougher than vines and can thrive on many different terrains and under various climate conditions. Researchers reported that a key area of Spanish olive oil production in Catalonia ma...
متن کاملThe Impact of Climate Change on Yield Potential of Maize across China
Maize is one of the major crops in China and its yield potential has been changedsignificantly by climate change induction during last five decades. The national policy of maizeproduction sufficiency emphasizes the necessity for a more accurate estimation of yieldpotential of maize at a national level. In this paper yield potential of maize was calculated usingthe Global Agro-Ecological Zones (...
